Let's go rafting along the beautiful Tamagawa river with some cliff/rock jumps here and there!

A short hike up to the peaks of Mt. Sougaku (756m) and Mt. Iwatakeishi (793m). Breathe some fresh air, and enjoy beautiful forest landscapes while hiking these two peaks. The hike is easy level and can be done (up and down) under 3 hours.

Another outdoor adventure not to be missed!

Trip Itinerary

Rafting

  • Meet the group at Mitake station at 1:15pm
  • Walk to the rafting club base
  • Get the gear on
  • Safety talk and learn the basic paddling technique
  • Rafting (2pm-4:30)
  • Relax/have some drinks at club base deck
  • Check out the local onsen or head back to Tokyo

Hiking (Optional)

  • Meet on the train (Car No. 2 of Holiday Rapid Okutama departing at 6:46am from JR Shinjuku station)
  • Catch up on your sleep or chat with other members
  • Arrive at Mitake station at 8:06am
  • Meet the rest of the group
  • Orientation/safety briefing
  • Start the hike up to Mt. Sougaku (756m) and Mt. Iwatakeishi (793m) around 8:30am
  • Reach the peak of Mt. Sougaku around 10:15am
  • Reach the peak of Mt. Iwatakeishi around 11am
  • Enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery (without any trees blocking your view)
  • Short picnic lunch
  • Hike back down to Mitake station
  • Finish the hike around 1pm
  • Meet the rest of the group for some rafting adventure

Important Notes

  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather, and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • You MUST have your own insurance (health, social, company, etc.) to be able to join.
  • Rafting first-timers and beginners are totally welcome!
  • The hike is easy level and can be done under 3.5 hours (up and down).
  • Please prepare/buy picnic lunch and drinks the night before if you're joining the hike.
  • The trip will proceed on time with or without you so please don't be late. Check your train times beforehand and spare some time as train connections can be complicated.
  • Final details will be sent to the participants two days before the event.
