  • Ski/snowboarding at Nozawa Onsen; widely considered by many experienced riders as the best ski resort in Japan in terms of everything (resort layout, consistency of powder snow and weather, lots of tree runs, long backcountry and sidecountry, accessibility and location, apres ski bars, onsens, traditional town and very friendly locals)
  • Two (2) full days in the mountains
  • Thirteen (13) FREE public onsens
  • Free beginners ski/snowboarding lessons from Certified Instructors

Trip Itinerary

Santa on the slopes

Friday (Dec 25) X'mas day

  • Meet in Shinjuku at 7:45pm
  • Get on the bus
  • Have some drinks, chat with other members and get excited
  • Short stops for food/snacks on the way
  • Arrive in Nozawa Onsen around 0:30am
  • Check-in at the lodge
  • Stay overnight

Saturday (Dec 26)

  • Breakfast at 7:30am
  • Get the gear on
  • Ski/snowboarding (8:30am-5pm)
  • Visit one of the FREE public onsens
  • Relax at the lodge/have some drinks
  • Dinner at 6pm
  • Apres-ski party at our local bar (Karaoke Heaven)

Sunday (Dec 27)

  • Breakfast at 7:30am
  • Get the gear on
  • Ski/snowboarding (8:30am-3pm)
  • Visit one of the FREE public onsens
  • Change clothes/get ready
  • Get on the bus at 4pm
  • Short stops for food/snacks on the way
  • Arrive back in Shinjuku around 8:45pm

Important Notes

  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather, traffic conditions, and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • Ski/snowboarding off-piste is strictly prohibited.
  • You MUST have your own insurance (health, social, company, etc.) to be able join.
  • Rooms will be allocated to your preference.
  • Minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 persons per room.
  • Male/Female only rooms are available.
  • Group of friends can have their own room.
  • Private room for 2 persons available for an extra fee on a first-come/first-served basis (limited rooms).
  • The lodge is only a 6min walk to Karasawa pair lift and 12min walk to Nagasaka gondola.
  • Restaurants and shops in the ski resorts don't accept credit cards so please bring enough cash.
  • Lunch not provided but available at the ski resort.
  • Free ski/snowboarding lesson is on Saturday (Dec 26) from 9:30am until 12:30pm.
  • Lift pass will not be provided if you avail the beginners discount.
  • You don't need a lift pass to join our free ski/snowboarding lessons. However, if you're a fast learner and would want to ride the chairlifts, you can buy a "ride ticket" which costs around 300-350yen per ride. On average, beginners only take the chairlifts 4-5 times the entire weekend. Some beginners, not at all!
  • We will try to accommodate all dietary requirements. However, we are unable to guarantee the hotel/lodge can cater for every meal.
  • Soap, shampoo and rinse are provided in the bath (ofuro).
  • Towels available for rent at the lodge for 200yen.
  • You can send your gear by delivery service (takkyubin) to the hotel. Address will be provided upon request.
  • You must check out of your room before 10am on Sunday (Dec 27), and put your belongings in the luggage room before going ski/snowboarding.
  • Everyone receives 1,000yen discount in the courtesy of the Nagano Prefectural Government to attract more tourists in the area.
  • Final details will be sent to the participants by email two days before the event.
