Come join one of the best day hikes in the Kanto area!

Go out breathe some fresh air and excercise at the same time. Spend the day in the mountains hiking and enjoying the nature while meeting lots of people.

Finish the day relaxing in the outdoor onsen and have a few drinks with your new friends after onsen.

Trip Itinerary

  • Meet "ON THE TRAIN" at Shinjuku station at 7am (Car No. 2 of Chuo line rapid train departing at 7:07am)
  • Arrive at Mitake station around 8:45am
  • Meet the rest of the group
  • Get on the bus (10mins)
  • Get on the Mitake cable car (6mins)
  • Short sightseeing break at Mitake shrine
  • Start the hike at 10am
  • Short rest at Nanayo falls
  • Short rest at Rock garden (with beautiful waterfalls)
  • Arrive at the summit of Mt. Otake (1,257m) around 12:15pm
  • Short picnic lunch (not provided)
  • Short rest at the summit of Mt. Nokogiri
  • Short rest at the summit of Mt. Atagoya
  • Finish the hike in Okutama around 4:30pm
  • Relax in Moegi onsen until 6pm (optional)
  • Get on the train
  • Arrive back in Tokyo around 8pm

Important Notes

  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather, traffic conditions, and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • You MUST have your own insurance (health, social, company, etc.) to be able to join.
  • Hike is intermediate level (approximately 6-1/2hrs, 16kms).
  • Reasonable fitness necessary to join.
  • Hiking experience not required but an advantage.
  • Meeting the group at Mitake station at 8:45am is okay.
  • The hike will be canceled in case of bad weather. There will be no cancellation fee but the participation fee will be kept as a credit for future TG event.
  • Onsen is optional. You can go back straight to Tokyo after the hike if you want.
  • Final details will be sent to the participants two days before the event.
