Trip Itinerary

Friday (Feb 23)

  • Meet in Shinjuku at 7:30pm
  • Get on the bus
  • Have some drinks, chat with other members and get excited
  • Short stops for food/snacks on the way
  • Arrive in Shiga Kogen around 0:30am
  • Check-in at the hotel
  • Go straight to sleep (or have a drink or two at the lobby)

Saturday (Feb 24)

  • Breakfast at 7:30am
  • Get the gear on
  • Ski/snowboarding at Shiga Kogen (8:30am-5pm) and/or join the Snow Monkey Day Tour (1pm-5)
  • Take a hot shower/bath or visit the local onsen
  • Relax at the hotel/have some drinks
  • Dinner at 6pm
  • Fun apres-ski party

Sunday (Feb 25)

  • Breakfast at 7:30am
  • Get the gear on
  • Ski/snowboarding at Shiga Kogen (8:30am-3pm) or Nozawa Onsen (8:30am-3pm) *Private shuttle will be provided
  • Take a hot shower/bath or visit the local onsen
  • Change clothes/get ready
  • Get on the bus at 4pm
  • Short stops for food/snacks on the way
  • Arrive back in Shinjuku around 8:45pm

Important Notes

  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather, traffic conditions, and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • Ski/snowboarding off-piste is strictly prohibited.
  • You MUST have your own insurance (health, social, company, etc.) to be able join.
  • Day trip to Nozawa will be on the Sunday. Bus departing at 7:30am. You will not come back to Shiga Kogen if you're joining this day trip so bring all your luggages with you.
  • Rooms will be allocated to your preference.
  • Minimum of 3 and maximum of 4 persons per room.
  • Male/Female only rooms are available.
  • Group of friends can have their own room.
  • Private room for 2 persons available for an extra fee on a first-come/first-served basis (limited rooms).
  • The hotel (almost ski-in ski-out) is located near Yakebitaiyama; the best powder snow and ski area in Shiga Kogen.
  • Lunch not provided but available at the ski resort.
  • Please bring enough cash on the trip. Credit cards are not widely accepted here in Japan. International (foreign) cash cards sometimes don't work on ATM's (if any) at the ski resort.
  • There will be an extra fee for ski/snowboard boots JPN size 29.5 and above.
  • Free ski/snowboarding lesson is on Saturday (Feb 24) from 9:30am until 12pm.
  • Lift pass will not be provided if you avail the beginners discount.
  • You don't need a lift pass to join our free ski/snowboarding lessons. However, if you're a fast learner and would want to ride the chairlifts, you can buy a "ride ticket" which costs around 300-350yen per ride. On average, beginners only take the chairlifts 4-5 times the entire weekend. Some beginners, not at all!
  • We will try to accommodate all dietary requirements. However, we are unable to guarantee the hotel/lodge can cater for every meal.
  • Soap, shampoo and rinse are provided in the bath (ofuro).
  • Towels available for rent at the hotel for 200yen.
  • You can send your gear by delivery service (takkyubin) to the hotel. Address will be provided upon request.
  • You must check out of your room before 10am on Sunday (Feb 25), and put your belongings in the luggage room before going ski/snowboarding.
  • Final details will be sent to the participants by email two days before the event.
