Let's go kayaking or SUP (stand-up paddle) boarding along the gentle and quiet Okutama river while enjoying beautiful scenery and the gorgeous nature!

Explore and see some waterfalls, river, lakes and gorgeous mountain scenery on a saddle of a mountain bike!

Trip Itinerary

Kayaking or Stand-up Paddle Boarding

  • Meet the group at Mitake station at 12:40pm
  • Walk to the Kayak/SUP Base Center
  • Get the gear on
  • Safety talk and learn the basic paddling technique
  • River kayaking or SUP boarding together until 4pm
  • Enjoy a drink or two back at the Kayak/SUP Base Center
  • Visit the nearby local onsen or head back to Tokyo

Biking Trip (Optional)

  • Meet on the train (Car No. 2 of Holiday Rapid Okutama departing at 6:46am from JR Shinjuku station)
  • Catch up on your sleep or chat with other members
  • Arrive at Okutama station at 8:21am
  • Meet the rest of the biking group
  • Walk to the bike rental shop
  • Orientation/safety briefing
  • Start the bike tour at 8:45am
  • Bike around Okutama to see some waterfalls, lakes and breathtaking mountain sceneries
  • Picnic lunch around 11:30am
  • Return the bikes around 12:15pm
  • Take the 12:20pm train from Okutama to Mitake
  • Arrive at Mitake station at 12:38pm
  • Meet the rest of the group for some SUP boarding or river kayaking

Important Notes

  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather, traffic conditions, and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • You MUST have your own insurance (health, social, company, etc.) to be able to join.
  • The current of the river we will be kayaking and SUP boarding on is gentle and quiet.
  • Kayaking and SUP boarding first-timers and beginners are totally welcome!
  • The bike trip is about 3.5 hours and distance to cover will be between 15~25 kilometers depending on the fitness level of the group. We'll visit some waterfalls, river and lakes around Okutama area.

  • Reasonable fitness required for the biking trip.
  • Please have lunch first before meeting the group at Mitake station. There are no shops nearby to buy food and drinks.
