Trip Itinerary

Friday (Mar 20)

  • Meet in Shinjuku at 7:30pm
  • Get on the bus
  • Have a relaxing drink, chat with other members and get excited
  • Short stop for food/snacks on the way
  • Arrive in Shiga Kogen around 0:30am
  • Check-in at the hotel
  • Go straight to sleep (or have a drink or two at the mini-bar)

Saturday (Mar 21)

  • Breakfast at 7:30am
  • Get the gear on
  • Ski/snowboarding (8:30am-5pm)
  • Enjoy the hotel's big hot bath
  • Dinner at 5:30pm
  • Snow Monkey Beer and Music Festival (6:30pm-10:30)
  • 2nd party back at the hotel (from 11pm until late)

Sunday (Mar 22)

  • Breakfast at 7:30am
  • Get the gear on
  • Ski/snowboarding (8:30am-3pm) or join the Optional Snow Monkeys tour (1pm-4:30)
  • Enjoy the hotel's big hot bath
  • Change clothes/get ready
  • Get on the bus at 4pm
  • Short stop for food/snacks on the way
  • Arrive back in Shinjuku around 8:45pm

Important Notes

  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather, traffic conditions, and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • Ski/snowboarding off-piste is strictly prohibited.
  • Please bring enough cash on the trip. Credit cards are not widely accepted here in Japan. International (foreign) cash cards sometimes don't work on ATM's (if any) at the ski resort.
  • Rooms will be allocated to your preference.
  • Minimum/maximum of 4 persons per room.
  • Male/Female only rooms are available.
  • Group of (4) friends can have their own room.
  • Private room for 2-3 persons available for an extra fee on a first-come/first-served basis (limited rooms).
  • The hotel (almost ski-in ski-out) is located near Yakebitaiyama; the best snow and ski area in Shiga Kogen.
  • Lunch not provided but available at the ski resort.
  • There will be a 3,000yen fee for ski/snowboard boots JPN size 29.5 and above.
  • Free ski/snowboarding lesson is on Saturday (Mar 21) from 9:30am until 12pm.
  • Lift pass will not be provided if you avail the beginners discount.
  • You don't need a lift pass to join our free ski/snowboarding lessons. However, if you're a fast learner and would want to ride the chairlifts, you can buy a "ride ticket" which costs around 300-350yen per ride. On average, beginners only take the chairlifts 4-5 times the entire weekend. Some beginners, not at all!
  • We will try to accommodate all dietary requirements. However, we are unable to guarantee the hotel/lodge can cater for every meal.
  • Towels and toothbrush/toothpaste kit are provided.
  • Soap, shampoo and rinse are provided in the bath (ofuro).
  • You can send your gear by delivery service (takkyubin) to the hotel. Address will be provided upon request.
  • You must check out of your room before 10am on Sunday (Mar 22), and put your belongings in the designated luggage room.
  • Final details will be sent to the participants by email two days before the event.
