This Trip Features;
  • Red Kochia –  a massive 350 hectare field at Miharashi Hill in Hitachi Seaside Park is filled with 32,000 red kochia (pompom) balls making a spectacular and jaw dropping scenery.
  • Mt. Tsukuba – one of the most famous mountains in Japan, particularly well known for its double peaks, Nyotai-san 877m and Nantai-san 871m. Many people climb the so-called “purple mountain” every year for the panoramic view of the Kantō plain from the summit.
  • Ushiku Buddha – was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest Buddhist statue in the world (from 1993-2002) at 120 meters. The height of the giant bronze statue includes the 10m high base and 10m high lotus platform. It weighs an incredible 4,000 tons and was built in 1993 to commemorate the birth of Shinran (1173-1263), the founder of the Jodo Shinshu sect of Japanese Buddhism.

  • Meet the group in Shinjuku at 7am
  • Get on the bus
  • Catch up on your sleep
  • Arrive at Mt. Tsukuba bus parking around 9am
  • Walk up to the cable car station (15mins) and see Tsukuba shrine on the way
  • Get on the cable car and enjoy the 5mins ride to the top
  • Enjoy the breathtaking mountain views
  • Walk across from Koma View Terrace to the peak of Mt. Nyotai (about 15mins)
  • Take the ropeway down from Mt. Nyotai to Tsutsujigaoka station
  • Get on the bus at 10:45am
  • Arrive at Hitachi Seaside Park around 12pm
  • Explore and marvel the 32,000 red kochia balls
  • Get on the bus at 2:45pm
  • Arrive at Ushiku Buddha around 3:50pm
  • Feel the power and energy standing next to the tallest Buddha in Japan
  • Get on the bus at 5:10pm
  • Arrive back in Shinjuku around 6:45pm
